The opportunity to choose between brilliant or being a mother should never be a zero sum game.

Between juggling work and home, women, traditionally had to give one or the other up.  The recent Nobel Prize Laureate in Economics Prof. Claudia Goldin in 2023 whose foundational research on women’s participation in the workforce shed phenomenal light on the fundamental challenges of women balancing their career and family across generations.

Thus, we applaud mothers who could have had it easy, choose to walk one of the toughest path of all – juggling between pursuing their career and family commitments. Despite having to perform the perpetually juggling act of balancing between their career and other commitments, they choose to give their unconditional love, support and guidance to nurture the future leaders of the world.

On this Mother’s Day, we features stories of #mothersinSTEM who made the decision to pursue a career in science while nurturing the future generations of people.

To all #mothersinSTEM, we wish a very happy Mother’s Day.
