Technical University of Munich Asia

Technical University of Munich (TUM) was founded in 1868 and is ranked as Germany's #1 University. Known as one of Europe’s leading technical universities, TUM has strived to create sustainable solutions for society through excellence in education and research. 17 TUM professors and alumni have also been awarded the Nobel Prize since 1927. Through TUM’s unwavering commitment to the betterment of society, TUM Asia was set up in 2002 as the first academic branch campus of any German university. TUM Asia offers Bachelor and Master degrees by TUM, in partnership with universities in Singapore. Additionally, TUM Asia now offers a new suite of Executive Education courses in areas such as Industrie 4.0 and Precision Engineering.

In celebration of the International Women's Day, we feature Ms Gunjot Kaur, an alumnae of TUM Asia's Master of Science in Integrated Circuit Design in 2007. Today, Gunjot Kaur helms the Director and Product Marketing Team Lead at Infineon Automotive High Voltage Module Product Line in Germany. As a technical expert in semiconductors and marketing, Gunjot is responsible for product marketing for automotive high voltage power modules for electric mobility working with car original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Automotive Tier 1. Gunjot's success today - as a woman who not only found her voice but harnessed it to inspire other fellow women and men – was a culmination of a long personal journey.

TUM Asia, is transforming the curriculum of its Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering programme to integrate complementary modules, enabling more mechatronics and electronics students even without prior aerospace engineering background to pursue postgraduate education in aerospace engineering. The redesigned programme aims to attract aspiring students with mechatronics or electronics backgrounds to join the evolving aerospace industry, harnessing their skill sets in robotics and informatics to develop smarter aerospace systems and integrated solutions that deliver and optimise the full spectrum of aircraft performance.
