THE GAST NETWORK

The GAST Network was founded on November 16, 2009 as a platform to systematically develop German – ASEAN Science and Technology cooperation. At the same time, the network sought to specifically enhance synergies & networking among institutions/groups in Southeast Asia that had pre-existing ties with Germany. Since early 2011, in conjunction with the restructuring of the GAST Network, the focus of GAST has been redirected towards industrial and commercial cooperation to support the transfer of technologies from Germany to Southeast Asia.

Goals of the GAST Network:

–          Development & Support of Strategies for Technology Transfer

–          Networking between Germany-related Institutions & Companies in the ASEAN Region

–          Systematic Development & Cooperation of German – ASEAN “Cutting-Edge” Technology

–          Joint Research Activities & Participation in German – ASEAN funded R&D Programs

–          Exchange of Academic Excellence
