Singapore’s high population density and limited land resources require new innovative and energy and social sustainable transport solutions. With the announcement of LTA’s “Walk Cycle Ride SG” vision, Singapore is now on a green track. Providing green door-to-door commuter solutions, the island nation is moving towards a “car-lite” future. This transformation requires new first and last mile infrastructure resulting in a positive development of local communities, quality of life and public health.
A green transportation network requires green energy. Unfortunately, green energy is rare, often expensive and sometimes not available at all. Improving energy efficiency is therefore an important necessity. Based on results of international studies, the upcoming Speaker Series will address the challenges and possibilities of green transportation.
