Overview
The term “digitalisation” represents the fundamental change currently taking place in the production and manufacturing industries. As real-world and virtual reality continue to merge, modern information and communication technologies have become combined with traditional industrial processes, thereby redefining numerous areas of production. The Cyber-Physical (CP) Factory reflects this new paradigm by offering a modular Smart Factory system.
This 3-day workshop gives an overview of the CP-System integrated with Industry 4.0 features, i.e. decentralised intelligence, high connectivity, flexibility and modularity. In this module, participants can expect the following:
• Demonstration of the characteristic of CP-System
• Modular design concept of the CP-System
• Ethernet-based network backbone enabling Internet-of-Things implementation
• Machine-to-machine communication with industrial ethernet network and OPC-UA
• Optimise production control with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for order management, production planning, OEE, and resource management
• Configuring flexible processes with the use of MES and radio frequency identification technologies to improve the process information of a product in the manufacturing line
• Carrying out systems modelling, controller design and analysis
• Process simulation and optimisation with digital simulation software
• Basic illustration of cloud application
• Worker assistance with augmented reality
