Manufacturers of automation equipment strive for a manufacturing world where all machines and sensors can communicate seamlessly through open industry communication protocols such as IO-Link and OPC-UA. This workshop provides an understanding and appreciation of the applications of smart sensors in the context of process optimisation and predictive maintenance.
THE CONTENT
• Principles of smart sensors for digitalisation
• Types of smart sensors
• Advantages over digital and analog sensors
• Industrial applications of smart sensors
• Performing predictive maintenance
• Replacing sensors in the field and uploading settings
• Communication protocol IO-Link
• Integrating smart sensors in different manufacturing processes
The workshop is spread across 2 days (16 hours) and participants can choose from a variety of dates:
Time: 9am – 6pm
SGD 800
Competence Centre for Digitalisation, Technology and Innovation (CDTI)
6 Kian Teck Way,
Level 3, Singapore 628754
This workshop aims to equip participants with the fundamentals of smart sensor technologies. Project-oriented and hand-on activities are included to teach participants how to systematically select, set up and integrate smart sensors into manufacturing processes.
LEARNING OUTCOME:
Participants will be able to understand the following topics:
● Selection and parametrisation of sensors
● Setting up of IO-link communication
● Appreciating the benefits of integrating smart sensors in manufacturing processes
