Technical University of Munich Asia

Technical University of Munich (TUM) was founded in 1868 and is ranked as Germany's #1 University. Known as one of Europe’s leading technical universities, TUM has strived to create sustainable solutions for society through excellence in education and research. 17 TUM professors and alumni have also been awarded the Nobel Prize since 1927. Through TUM’s unwavering commitment to the betterment of society, TUM Asia was set up in 2002 as the first academic branch campus of any German university. TUM Asia offers Bachelor and Master degrees by TUM, in partnership with universities in Singapore. Additionally, TUM Asia now offers a new suite of Executive Education courses in areas such as Industrie 4.0 and Precision Engineering.

TUM Asia marks its twentieth year of bringing German academic excellence to Singapore with a line-up of celebrations and announcements that will set the stage for the organisation's strategic direction in the years to come. The series of celebrations culminated on 14 June with an exclusive visit by the President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, to the Singapore campus of TUM. Till date, TUM Asia remains the only German university to have an overseas campus in Singapore.

TUM Certificate Programme “Digital Twins for Cities”

TUM Institute for Lifelong Learning from the Technical University of Munich is organising a Digital Twins for Cities Programme in October 2022. This training programme shows how interdisciplinary solutions can be combined to create a virtual city model – The Digital Twin. The Digital Twin serves as a basis for decisions regarding sustainability, security and quality of life in the built environment. After completion of the course, participants will be awarded with a certificate from the Technical University of Munich.
