The Symposium amassed a sizable number of professionals from various industries, seeking to delve into the world of composites – a material thought to be the resource of “tomorrow”. Participants came excited to learn about the usage of emerging materials and research methods, to create feasible solutions for a variety of challenges. Participants were enthralled by the elucidations from our invited speakers, which differed on each day.
Notable composite experts hailed from Germany itself – Professor Klaus Drechsler (TU Munich) and Professor Peter Mlddendorf (University of Stuttgart) – were amongst the many speakers who partook in the Symposium. Other speakers include Dr. Yee Fook Cheong (ST Kinetics), Andreas Erber (TU Munich), Tan Meng Ho (Kuka), Guido Grave (Herzog) and Alexander Schwingenschloegl (TU Munich).
Dr. Markus Wächter, Managing Director of TUM Asia opened the programme with his welcome address once registrations were done. It was quickly followed by the keynote presentations “R&T Trends in Composite Simulation” by Prof. Peter Middendorf on the 13th September, and “Carbon Composites – Trends, Strategies and Challenges” by Prof. Klaus Drechsler on the 14th September. 6 more speeches from esteemed speakers and servings of light refreshments later, the Symposium australia online casinos was concluded with a panel and open discussion whereby participants voiced their queries with regards to the programme.
The Composite Technologies Symposium was a follow up from the signed MOU for composites research between TUM Asia and Singapore Polytechnic. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed during the JEC Asia Conference and Exhibition which took place in Singapore on the 26th to 28th of June, 2012. To find out more about the MOU signing, read our article about it here.
