Collaboration with Industry Partners

TUM Asia is following a practical approach to training substantial numbers of highly skilled and creative professionals, demanded by global economies today. Developing curriculum in close cooperation with the industry is part of our innovative concept of combining theory with industry-relevant applications.

"TUM Asia is one of the key partners of Infineon for development of high profile talent in Singapore. Their offer of a joint Master degree in IC Design matches in an excellent way Infineon's growing need for qualified students."
Mr Ulf Schneider
Managing Director , LantiQ Singapore .                       Former Vice President – Infineon Technologies Asia Pacific Pte Ltd

At present our "Master in Industrial Chemistry" is supported by BASF, Budenheim, SGL Carbon and Wacker while the Master programme in "Integrated Circuit Design" is sponsored mainly by Infineon. The upcoming Master in "Microelectronics" has found a strong partner in Siltronic AG. These companies offer scholarships to selected students allowing highly gifted students to participate in a unique educational programme while the partners themselves have the opportunity to seek and attract prospective top-level employees.

"The objective of the TUM Asia's program to impart invaluable knowledge and practical skills to students, is impressive, and has proven effective in molding students with the right talent to participate actively in the scientific and research marketplace."
Dr. Andreas Fechtenkoetter, Former Department Head

Besides providing the students with scholarships our partners also commit their time and expertise to our programmes. Industry professionals guarantee excellent supervision for students working with them for the duration of their internship and/or master thesis. Moreover top-level personnel from our worldwide industry partners are actively involved in the ten month of coursework sharing their expertise and bring to the classroom the industry's actual challenges.

"Teaching TUM Asia students has been an extremely rewarding experience. In the intercultural modules their personalities really shine, as they see themselves as ambassadors of their countries and are eager to share their culture with students from all over the globe."
